Encodian Sign subscriptions include a set number of subscription envelopes per term (monthly or annual) for sending documents for electronic signature.
If your organization needs more envelopes than your subscription includes, you can upgrade your subscription or purchase additional envelopes in advance.
Additional envelopes are managed separately from your monthly or annual subscription allowance.
What happens when I use my Envelope allowance?
When you exhaust your included subscription allowance, if you've pre-purchased additional envelopes, Encodian Sign automatically switches to additional envelope usage.
Envelopes are used in the following order:
- Included subscription envelopes: Your monthly or annual allowance is used first.
- Pre-purchased additional envelopes: If your included allowance has been exhausted, any available pre-purchased envelopes are used next.
If you haven't pre-purchased additional envelopes, you will not be able to send any more envelopes until your subscription renews or you upgrade or you purchase additional envelopes. Overage billing is not applicable.

How do I purchase Additional Envelopes?
You can purchase additional envelopes once you have an active paid Encodian Sign subscription.
Additional envelopes can be purchased through:
- Encodian Sign dashboard: Access the available purchasing options within your account.
- Encodian Sales: Contact the Sales team to arrange additional envelope purchases.
Manual invoice purchases are subject to minimum order values (1000 envelopes).

When do Additional Envelopes expire?
Pre-purchased additional envelopes expire one year from their purchase date.
This expiry date is separate from your monthly or annual subscription renewal date.
For example, if you purchase additional envelopes on October 19, 2026, they expire on October 19, 2027.
Any unused pre-purchased envelopes expire when their applicable expiry date is reached.
What happens to Additional Envelopes when my subscription ends or I cancel my subscription?
If your subscription expires or is disabled, any unused additional envelopes may be restored if you reactivate your subscription within 90 days.
Additional envelopes remain subject to their applicable expiration dates and payment arrangements.
You cannot create new envelopes while your subscription is inactive.
If you need to reactivate your subscription, contact Encodian Support before the 90-day retention period ends.
How do I monitor Additional Envelope ssage?
You can monitor your available envelope allowances through the Encodian Sign dashboard.
- Sign in to your Encodian Sign dashboard.
- Navigate to the Dashboard.
- Locate the Subscription section.
- Review your included envelope allowance and additional envelope information.
The dashboard displays information about how many envelopes you have and how many have been used.
