Manual Generation of Tags

When JSON is uploaded via the 'Data' tab, Templater automatically identifies data types. For greater control, including creating custom tags and defining data types manually, use the 'Manual' tab.

Create a Tag

1. Select the 'Manual' tab.
2. Select a date type from the 'Type' drop-down.  The supported types are (along with links to corresponding support articles):
   • Background Colour
   • Bookmark
   • Checkbox
   • Collection
   • Control Character
   • Date
   • Document
   • Image
   • Link
   • Number
   • String
   • Variable

3. Select an existing field from the 'Field' drop-down or enter your own field name.

   

4. Apply formatters if required.  These are dynamically loaded based on the selected data type.

5. Click 'Insert' to add the manually created tag to your document.
