Working with Data to Generate Tags

Once data has been uploaded to Templater, it can be used to then generate appropriate tags within the MS Word document.  The document can then be saved as a template to be used in the Encodian Flow action 'Word - Populate'

Templated will automatically determine the data type of the individual data item in the uploaded JSON and present the appropriate formatters.

Create a Tag

  1. Expand the relevant section in the 'Field and Type' tree view to see the available tags (the 'Show data' button can be selected to view the data associated with the tag in the supplied JSON).

  2. Select a data item to see its corresponding tag appear in the 'Preview' text area.

    Select data preview.png
  3. Place the cursor in the desired location on the MS Word document, then select 'Insert' to add the tag to the page.  The tag will then appear in the 'Recently Used' text area, allowing it to be utilised again without the need to regenerate it.

Applying Formatters

Depending on the type of data in the tag, different formatters can be applied via the tag to change the appearance of the data once populated.

A full list of formatters can be viewed in this support article - Expression Results and Formatting

To apply a formatter, select the required value from the 'Formatters' drop-down list.  The values in this list will change depending on the type of data selected.
