Excel - Add Text Headers and Footers

Overview

The 'Excel - Add Text Headers and Footers' Power Automate action adds the text provided to the specified Header and Footer location(s) of the Excel file provided.

NOTE: Both Headers and Footers are not visible until the file is printed or viewed via print preview.

Input File Types

The following file types are supported:

  • XLSX
  • XLS

Credit Count

This action consumes 1 credit per operation.

Note, different Encodian actions can consume different number credits. Please always check the action specific documentation and read What is an Encodian Action for a full description of how credits are consumed.

Default Parameters

The default 'Excel - Add Text Headers and Footers' flow action parameters are detailed below:

  • File Content: A Base64 encoded representation of the Excel file to be processed
  • Header Left: The text to add to the 'Left Header' position
  • Header Central: The text to add to the 'Left Header' position
  • Header Right: The text to add to the 'Right Header' position
  • Footer Left: The text to add to the 'Left Footer' position
  • Footer Central: The text to add to the 'Central Footer' position
  • Footer Right: The text to add to the 'Right Footer' position

Advanced Parameters

The advanced 'Excel - Add Text Headers and Footers' flow action parameters are detailed below:

  • Worksheet Names: A comma separated list of the names of the worksheets to remove the watermark from: Sales, Totals, Year to Date
  • Worksheet Indexes: A comma separated list of indexes of the worksheets to remove the watermark from: 1,3,4
  • Culture Name: This setting is used to set the culture for the workbook prior to conversion. Please refer to the Culture Names article for a list of supported cultures. 

Return Parameters

The 'Excel - Add Image Header or Footer' flow action returns the following data. 

Action Specific Return Values

  • File Content - The processed file (Base64)

Standard Return Values

  • OperationId - The unique ID assigned to this operation.
  • HttpStatusCode - The HTTP Status code for the response.
  • HttpStatusMessage - The HTTP Status message for the response.
  • Errors - An array of error messages should an error occur.
  • Operation Status - Indicates whether the operation has been completed, has been queued or has failed.
