Indxr Installation

Pre-requisites for a Server Installation

If Indxr is being installed in a server environment, to allow authentication to SharePoint Online via the application "Active Scripting" needs to be enabled. 

1. Search for and open "Internet Options" via the Start menu

2. Open the "Security" tab then click "Custom Level"

3. Locate the "Scripting" section and click the radio button next to "Enable"

4. Click "OK" followed by "Apply" to commit the changes

Additional Pre-requisites for a Windows Server 2019 Installation

Windows Server 2019 blocks the download of cookies by default in the Internet privacy settings.  To allow Indxr to connect to SharePoint Online this will need to be enabled.

1. Search for and open "Internet Options" via the Start menu

2. Open the "Privacy" tab then click "Sites"

3. Enter the URL(s) of any SharePoint sites that will be used by the Indxr application and then click "Allow"

4. Click "OK" to commit the changes

Installation Instructions

The Indxr application will be supplied as a .zip package that should first be extracted to a suitable file location on the installation machine.

1. Run setup.exe to start the installation process.  On machines that are running Windows Defender, you may be prompted with the following warning.  If so click "More info" followed by "Run anyway"

2. Click "Install" to install the application

3. The application will download and install.  During the installation process, you may be prompted again with a warning by Windows Defender, if so follow the instructions in step 1.

4. Once the installation has been completed, the application will launch.
